Akagi volcano is located in central Honshu, 110 km NNW of Tokyo.

The volcano contains a 3 x 4 km diameter summit caldera with lake Ono in the NE.
Akagi Prefectural Park is located on the volcano.

An eruption of Akagi volcano 24,000 years ago, formed a lava dome, a tuff-ring, and a small explosion crater in the summit crater.
