Atsonupuri volcano is located in the southern Kurile Islands, Russia. It is 150 km NE of Hokkaido, Japan.
Atsonupuri volcano forms a prominent peninsula joined to the SW side of Iturup Island. Strombolian eruptions have historically occurred at the volcano. There are few lava flows.
