Ile des Cendres volcano is located 130 km off the SE coast of Vietnam.

1923 Eruption
On 2nd March 1923, there was an eruption at Ile des Cendres near the Puolo Cecir
group of islands which produced scoriaceous basalt. The eruption produced two small islands, one 30 m high and 450 m long, and the other 30 m wide and 30 cm high. The eruption stopped on 13th May 1923, and the islands were eroded below sea level.
