Chiracha volcano is located in southern Ethiopia, 10 km NE of Lake Abaya.

The volcano is located 15 km east of the Main Ethiopian rift. The Bilate River delta is 18 km SW of the volcano. This is where the Bilate River enters Lake Abaya.
