Platy Lava Dome - John Seach

A platy (endogenous) lava dome is formed from viscous magma which is erupted over a vent.
It has a low profile, blocky, shallow fractures and many surface corrugations.

Mt Merapi (Central Java, indonesia)
Soufriere (St Vincent, West Indies).
