Gas Eruptions - John Seach Volocanic gas emissions are integral
to the workings of volcanoes. Explosive eruptions are caused by decompression
of gas rich magma. At the other end of activity there is the continuous
degassing of volcanic vents, lava lakes, water lakes, and soil. It is speculated
that most of the volcano gas emissions occur through the soil in passive
volcanic activity.
