Haku-san volcano is located in central Honshu, 260 km NW of Tokyo, Japan.  Haku-san is regarded as one of the three most noted mountains in Japan together with Mt. Fuji and Mt. Tateyama.

Haku-san National Park forms the backbone of the Hokuriku area noted for its heavy snowfall. Much of the park is a wilderness area.
