Hoy is a small volcanic province west of Emerald in central Queensland. Mt Leura Conservation Park preservs a volcanic plug 550 m high, west of Rubyvale.

The volcano differs from other central Queensland volcanoes because of the large number of volcanic necks. Over 70 plugs are found in an area 50 km wide. Extensive lava flows are located around Anakie Hill 15 km SE of the Hoy province.

The volcano is associated with alluvial gem deposits of sapphires and zircons.
