Hawaii Volcano Observatory - John Seach
Kilauea Volcano

The original Hawaii Volcano Observatory building, was used from 1912-1940's,
when the Observatory was able to occupy a new building 200 m back from the caldera rim.
In 1948 Hawaii Volcano Observatory moved to a building at the top of Uwekahuna Bluff
on the northwest rim of Kilauea caldera; a new and larger building there was completed in 1986.
