 Hydrothermal Eruptions - John Seach

Hydrothermal eruptions are caused by catastrophic discharges of water close to the boiling point.
It is a phreatic eruption. No ash, incandesence, or clasts are erupted. Hydrothermal eruptions
may be caused by a reduction in the overlying pressure.
