Inierie Volcano is located on the south coast of central Flores. It is part of a row of volcanoes which have produced andesitic lava and pyroclastic flows. Other volcanoes in the area include Inielika and Ebulobo.

The volcano is an impressive cone with a small crater east of the summit. The crater walls are very steep and the outside is barren due to avalanches. Solfatara are located on SE floor of the crater.
