Kasuga volcano is located in the volcano islands, 1550 km SSE of Tokyo, Japan. Kasuga is the northernmost of three seamounts in the the Kasuga seamount chain.

The volcanoes lie in the northern part of a backarc basin, west of the Mariana volcanic arc.

Floating pumice was seen at the volcano location in 1959 and water discolouration in 1975. There is no caldera at the volcano.
