East Rift Zone - Kilauea Volcano

Cape Kumukahi is the easternmost point of the Hawaiian Islands.
It is 50 km to the summit of Kilauea volcano from Cape Kumukahi.
The east rift zone extends underwater another 75 km from the cape.
Lava from the 1960 eruption destroyed the Coast Guard Station but stopped at the foundations of the lighthouse.
