Kunyit volcano is located in the SW area of central Sumatra. Two craters are located near the summit. The youngest crater contains roaring fumaroles (elevation 2096 m, diameter 600 m).
2009 Earthquake
A magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred 33km SSE of the summit of Kuntit volcano on 1st October 2009.
