May-ya-moto volcano is located 27 km south of Lake Edward, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The volcano is marked by a thermal area 38 km north of Rutschuru.

The geothermal area contains both hot springs and steam vents, and may be associated with a concealed outflow from the Virunga volcanic field.

2010 Earthquake
A magnitude 5.1 shallow earthquake hit 17 km NW of May-ya-moto volcano on 29th January 2010 at 01:52 am.
