Miñiques volcano is located in northern Chile, south of Laguna Miscanti. The summit contains three overlapping craters. A prominent lava flow extends NW-ward from the summit to the lower flanks.

Laguna Miscanti is a heart-shaped brackish lake 8 km north of Miniques Volcano. The lake is part of one of the seven sectors of Los Flamencos National Reserve.
