Stratovolcanoes

The volcano is located in the Guanacaste Cordillera near the border with Nicaragua. It is 21 km south of Lake Nicaragua.
It is composed of a cluster of 4 eroded cones, with a large and poorly preserved crater. All the cones are completely covered with vegetation.

Orisi volcano has two areas of flank spreading and collapse. on the southeast and southwest sides.

Eruptions of Orosi in 1844 and 1849 may have been due to Rincon de la Vieja volcano.
