Cordón de Puntas Negras volcano is located in northern Chile, 46 km SE of Lascar volcano. The volcano contains small cones, lava domes, lava flows, and maars over an area of 500 sq km.

Small cones such as Cerros Cenizas, Aguas Calientes, Laguna Escondida, and Chinchilla have well-preserved summit craters which produced short lava flows.
