Rooster Tail Jet - John Seach

A rooster tail jet is a common eruptive feature of phreatomagmatic eruptions.
A mixture of steam and pyroclasts are seen jetting into the air up to hundreds of metres above the vent.
Rooster tail eruptions were common at Mt Usu in 2000.
