Semisopochnoi island is 21 km x 18 km in diameter. It is the largest of the young western Aleutian volcanic islands.
Mt Cerberus is the most active of the three cones in the caldera.

2018-22 Eruptions
Minor ash explosions began in September 2018. Low-level eruptive activity was observed in January 2022.
