Toney mountain is an elongated volcano with a 3 km long summit caldera. It is located in east-central Marie Byrd Land.

Seismic studies indicated that subglacial thickness of 5000 m for the basalt at Toney mountain. Felsic rocks overlie basaltic at Toney volcano.
