Caldera

The volcano contains a 22 km wide caldera which was formed 1.7 million years ago.
Post caldera eruptions formed Redondo Peak dome.

The last eruptions were 50,000-60,000 years ago, but an active geothermal system is currently present
with hot springs and fumaroles.
