Mud
Volcanoes - John Seach
Mud volcanoes
are not true volcanoes and do not erupt lava or ash.
They occur
when mud and sand under the surface are squeezed upward by compressive
forces
and expelled
at the surface. They are commonly found in areas rich in oil and natural
gas such as
the south of
Trinidad, often appearing along zones of weakness in the Earth's crust.
